
Twenty-one college and prep prospects from the Northeast will participate in a scrimmage hosted by Red Sox and Yankees scouts tonight at Fenway Park.
The MLB Draft prospects will scrimmage the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape League at 6 p.m. The scrimmage will conclude the Cape League's annual league-wide workout day at Fenway Park. Opening Day for the Cape League season is Saturday, June 10.
The 21 players on the Red Sox/Yankees Northeast scout team include 19 college players and two prep-schoolers. The D1 players from New England schools include two from Northeastern, and one each from Bryant, UConn, Maine, Fairfield, and Quinnipiac. Other New England colleges represented include Southern Connecticut, SNHU, Rhode Island College, Amherst College, and UMass Dartmouth. Both prep prospects attend New England schools -- Worcester Academy and Groton School, respectively.
