GOFFSTOWN, N.H. — Flip the calendar back two years ago. Connor Hujsak, a freshman at the time, probably was the happiest kid at Goffstown High.
Despite having three years left in his high school career, Hujsak was starting to gain some attention from several college programs, and he didn’t waste time deciding where he wanted to go.
Shortly after his initial varsity season was completed, Hujsak, a highly touted college prospect with vast potential, verbally committed to Rutgers University. With that process now behind him, the shortstop/pitcher could take a deep breath and focus much of his attention on what he loves most: playing baseball.
Throughout his sophomore year, and well into this past spring season, Hujsak didn’t need to worry about where he would spend the next four years of his life beyond graduation in 2020. Or so he thought.
