Sean Harrington and his Babson teammates were busy baseball men last month.
The catcher from Walpole, Mass., hit .310 with 36 RBI, 38 runs scored and a whopping .482 on-base percentage while helping the Beavers to 39-10 and advance to their first-ever Division 3 College World Series. Harrington also won NEWMAC championships during his first two seasons at Babson.
Harrington didn’t have much time to dwell on the Beavers being defeated in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, though, as he then got the opportunity to fill a local collegian’s dream by spending a week with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Falmouth Commodores.
The opportunity that Harrington received is a rare one for Division 3 players, but the St. Sebastian’s product recorded a hit, drove in a run and scored another during his six-game stint against the best of the best players from throughout the country.
