Tabor Academy '24 Cole Taylor has achieved the dream of most high school baseball players in New England.
The right-hander from Berkley, Mass., has received and accepted an offer to play college baseball at UConn -- the top program in New England over the last 20 years.
The commitment came together quickly; Taylor had no communication with any member of the UConn staff before attending a camp on the Storrs campus two weeks ago. The North East Baseball power pitcher had no other offers on the table as of yesterday, when he announced his commitment to play at UConn.
Taylor connected with New England Baseball Journal to share how a lesson from a pitching coach earlier this summer led to an immediate 2- to 3-mph jump in his velocity and why he decided to announce his commitment to UConn now.
