Ten high school and prep prospects from New England earned opportunities to play against Cape Leaguers last night as part of the Area Code Games tryouts at Fenway Park.
The day at Fenway started with a Cape Cod Baseball League workout. Each Cape League team took batting practice and infield work before the Orleans Firebirds squared off with high schoolers who represented the Red Sox/Yankees Scout Team.
In addition to the 10 players from New England, the Red Sox/Yankees roster included five players from New Jersey (Zach Konstantinovsky, Mark Gialluisi, Sean Griggs, Mike Lucarelli, Luke Dickerson), four players from New York (Seven Alemais, Owen Paino, Kevin Francella, Dominic Carbone) and one player from Delaware (Tyler August).
