In the third year of Rip City Academy's existence, the travel program reached an important milestone in 2022. Rip City players surpassed the $1 million mark in combined scholarship money since the program's inception.
It's certainly a nice starting point for a Berkshire County (Mass.) program that prides itself on providing a blue-collar training environment for its players.
"Our area in general is 'grindy,'" said Rip City Academy co-owner Kevin Donati. "'Grindy' is the word we like to use. There's not a whole lot to do around here, so our guys spend a lot of spare time at our facility. They come here to hang out, and it's a great culture for our guys."
