Rising college freshmen embrace summer opportunity

By Joshua KumminsAugust 1, 2018

Right before reuniting as teammates on the Futures Collegiate Baseball League’s Nashua Silver Knights this summer, infielder Cody Morissette and pitcher Geoff Mosseau played against each other in a pretty big game.

"I’ve been playing ball with Geoff since I was 13," said Morissette, an Exeter, N.H., native who is gearing up for his freshman year at Boston College. "It’s cool how we played each other in a (New Hampshire Division 1) state championship and then we’re on the same team enjoying a summer together two days later."

Morissette’s Blue Hawks beat Mosseau’s Bedford High Bulldogs to become the Granite State’s first repeat champion in Division 1, or Class L, in 21 years, but the pair of area native youngsters have put their high school allegiances aside in order to join a Nashua team that the entire state can rally behind.
