The 2021 MLB Draft is set to be well stocked with local talent, as we noted in our recent list of the top 20 prospects from New England.
Major League Baseball appears to agree with that assessment. Yesterday, MLB released its 2021 MLB Draft Top 100 Prospects list. For the first time in recent memory, the annual MLB ranking system includes six players with New England ties among the top 45 players.
Of the six New England players, three will play their college ball for the same New England Division 1 program this spring. Two will play college ball for teams outside of New England. And one player will suit up for a New England prep school for the first time.
