To say the least, 2021 was a season unlike any other for Fairfield.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Stags played a conference-only schedule in the MAAC last spring, but they made national headlines while starting a 33-1 regular season with 28 consecutive wins before earning the first NCAA at-large bid in league history and winning a pair of regional games at No. 2 Texas.
What could the Stags possibly do for an encore in 2022?
If nothing else, 11th-year coach Bill Currier (Essex Junction, Vt.) believes his program will be better for everything that came with competing on such a big stage in Longhorn Country last June.
