With a quick glance at the Holy Cross roster, it’s no secret that Ed Kahovec’s lineup card will look quite a bit different this spring than it did last.
The Crusaders are carrying 22 underclassmen and just three seniors into the 2022 season, but the amount of new blood didn’t change the excitement around the program in Worcester, Mass. Following a full fall for the first time since 2019, they feel prepared for the Patriot League’s challenges.
“You could really feel the energy around our guys because it was the closest that we had been to normalcy in a long time,” Kahovec said. “We learned that there’s a lot of strength in our youth which is really exciting, but the challenge is that those underclassmen make up so much of our roster and we needed to get them some experience.”
The plethora of young talent was tested through live repetitions and intrasquad games throughout the fall, and they will continue to be when the season begins.
