Like much else in the sports world, New England’s summer baseball scene will look drastically different in 2020 due to coronavirus-related season cancellations and delays.
The NECBL officially fell victim two weeks ago as it announced the cancellation of its 2020 season, ending any hopes of the beloved summer of baseball in 13 communities throughout our region.
While the season, sadly, won’t happen and we look forward to 2021, preparations for summer begin long before the first pitch of a 44-game schedule gets thrown in June. Each team had its roster filled with talented players from all over the country looking to gain attention from professional scouts and boost their stock for a future in the game.
