Summer league: 10 position players we’ll miss seeing in the NECBL

By Joshua KumminsMay 13, 2020

Without New England Collegiate Baseball League action to be played over the next several months, the sounds of this summer will be a lot different around these parts.

Preparations for each summer begin long before the first pitch gets thrown in June, so all 13 teams had the majority of their rosters in place by the time the 2020 season was cancelled on May 1. Players were set to flock to all six New England states for the 44-game schedule from both near and far for the opportunity to test themselves in one of the nation’s top circuits.

Though, sadly, the season won’t happen, here are 10 position players we expected to be keeping tabs on during their summers in the NECBL. All of them are either New England natives or play their college ball in the region.

Stay tuned for a look at some of the region’s top pitchers who were on this summer’s NECBL rosters.
