New England’s Division 1 college baseball scene spans six states and features a number of programs that have recently shown themselves on the national stage. UConn and Northeastern are both coming off NCAA tournament runs last season and are two of the region’s top teams again.
It also spans beyond those six states, and a month into the season, it's the perfect time to check in on the progress of some New Englanders who have excelled while playing their college ball outside of their home region.
Our look outside New England comes after Wake Forest sophomore Chris Lanzilli was named Player of the Week by the Atlantic Coast Conference and multiple national organizations for his dominant performance against Boston College.
