We're still 18 months away from the 2021 MLB Draft, but it's never too early to start formulating a list of prospects to scout in the coming months. The list of New England homegrown talent includes a handful of players who could potentially garner seven-figure signing bonuses if they continue to develop into Day 1 MLB Draft talent.
Last week, we featured New England's top 20 prospects in the MLB Draft Class of 2020. As a reminder, players born outside of New England are not included in this list, as it consists entirely of players who are native to New England. To clarify, a player is eligible for this list if he grew up in New England and is now playing prep or college baseball outside of New England. But it does not include players who grew up outside of New England and are now playing college ball regionally.
Comparing New England's 2020 and 2021 MLB Draft classes, the 2021 group is considered far stronger at the top.
