Northeastern was left sweating it out until this Selection Monday afternoon after its Colonial Athletic Association championship loss, but the Huskies earned an NCAA at-large bid and will join UConn and America East winner Hartford as New England’s representatives in the postseason field of 64.
Though the Huskies were listed as one of the last four teams in the tournament along with Dallas Baptist, Oklahoma State, and Troy, their No. 35 RPI, program-record 36 overall wins, and second consecutive CAA regular-season championship season were rewarded with the No. 3 regional seed in Raleigh, N.C., where they will take on Auburn in a rematch of a March series.
