HARVARD, Mass. – North East Baseball director Scott Patterson wants it all to happen at his program’s headquarters.
Batting cages, hitting instruction, pitch development, recruiting consultation, jersey distribution … In Patterson’s mind, all of it should take place at “The Barn,” a former power equipment shop in the business district of Harvard, Mass.
The latest remodel of “The Barn” – the one that gets Patterson’s blood pumping – included the installation of a strength training gym off of NEB’s indoor turf fields. The gym makes NEB’s headquarters unique in that “The Barn” now serves as a one-stop shop where players can develop their position-specific skills and get bigger, faster and stronger. There’s really no reason for NEB players to leave the facility to train anywhere else.
“A lot of programs offer some of the same stuff,” Patterson said. “But there’s nowhere else like this.”
