Try to do nothing

By Chris FayOctober 1, 2018

This summer, I coached a Bay State team made up of 12 9-year olds from Wayland (Mass.) Little League. It was fun, challenging, rewarding and frustrating … and that was just the first inning of Game 1 of 20.

In youth baseball, there typically is about 18-20 seconds in-between pitches — or about 2 minutes less than when David Price is on the mound. So as a coach, what do we do during that time?

Well, if you are like me, you try to use every possible second to micromanage your team to victory; it does more harm than good.
