Any baseball team needs good pitching to be successful.
UConn junior Tim Cate entered this season as one of the top pitching prospects in all of college baseball. When forearm tightness sidelined the Manchester, Conn., native for more than a month, sophomore Mason Feole (Wakefield, R.I.) ran with the role of ace for the Huskies and finished the regular season with eight victories in 14 starts.
While the star lefties garner much of the attention for Jim Penders’ club, sophomore Jacob Wallace (Methuen, Mass.) has put in the work, gained confidence and carved out his own niche on the talented staff.
