There figures to be a bump in college commitments once the players return to the field. Players in the Class of 2026 will still be in high demand for D1 and D2 college coaches. Class of 2025 prospects will still have plenty of options at the D3 level.
For aspiring D1 prospects in the Class of 2025, there is a precedent for achieving this dream -- even this late in the game. Many prep schools offer a postgraduate year, and some late-bloomers or players coming off of an injury have secured D1 commitments in the spring of their respective senior seasons.
