Watch list: 20 impact players at start of 2022 MIAA season

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association season will kick into full swing this week with a full slate of games across all divisions of play.

Like last year, there will be no Super 8 tournament in the postseason, as the MIAA's Tournament Management Committee voted last April to put a four-year pause on the popular Division 1A tournament.

Even without the Super 8 tournament, Xaverian left no doubt that it was the top team in the state in 2021. A collection of D1 prospects and up-and-coming underclassmen helped the Hawks claim their first state title since 2012.

Here's a look at 20 impact players who could help their respective teams contend for state championships this season.
