The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association state baseball tournament returned last spring after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

The biggest change to the 2021 season was that there was no Super 8 tournament. The MIAA’s Tournament Management Committee voted last April to put a four-year pause on the popular Division 1A tournament.

Even without the Super 8 tournament, Xaverian left no doubt that it was the top team in the state in 2021. A collection of D1 prospects and up-and-coming underclassmen helped the Hawks claim their first state title since 2012.

As we look ahead to 2022, here are 30 players who could impact the pursuit of a 2022 MIAA state championship.
