As we move into the heart of the high school/prep baseball season, pitch counts are rising, and batted balls are traveling farther in warmer temperatures. As a result, we're seeing more eye-popping statistical performances.
Throughout the spring, we’ll look to recognize athletes who have exceptional performances each week. We will select players from prep and high school teams around New England, but we will try not to double up on recognizing any prep players who earned recognition earlier that week in the Prep Coaches Poll.
A reminder that it is impossible to attend every high school or prep game in New England, so we rely on reports from coaches and social media accounts to select the performers each week. If you have a nominee for the weekly watch list, email NEBJ editor Dan Guttenplan at [email protected].
Here’s a look at 15 exceptional performers at the high school and prep levels over the last week.
