As the prep school season begins its final descent of the season, Winchendon School will host a special showcase event this weekend.
The inaugural Winchendon School Invitational will take place Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12, with all games being played on Winchendon's new campus turf baseball facility.
"We are very excited to host our first ever baseball invitational,'' said Winchendon head baseball coach John Toffey. "I see this tournament growing into a national event over time. The timing of this is perfect for exposure as college seasons wind down and the summer travel circuit has yet to ramp up.''
Along with Winchendon, other schools scheduled to take part include Putnam Science Academy (Putnam, Conn.), Paramount Academy (Springfield, Mass.), and King's Edgehill School (Windsor, Nova Scotia).
