The Western New England Prep Baseball League (WNEPBL) season concluded last week with a familiar team on top. Salisbury School earned a three-peat, clinching its third consecutive WNEPBL Tournament championship.
Salisbury coach Kevin Huber now has four WNEPBL titles to his record, with the fourth coming in 2018. The champs also took home some of the league's top awards, including Pitcher of the Year and Player of the Year. Naval Academy commit Ty Deperno earned Duane Estes Pitcher of the Year, while UMass commit Gavin O'Brien earned Young Division co-Player of the Year.
The other top awards went to Canterbury School's Myles Gythfeldt (Young Division co-Player of the Year), Cheshire Academy's Garrett Snyder (Young Division co-Pitcher of the Year), along with Williston Northampton's Colin Larson (Cleary Division Player of the Year) and Shaun McMillan (Cleary Division co-Pitcher of the Year).
