The start of the high school and prep seasons has not caused a spike in college baseball recruiting. For high school seniors still looking for offers, there is still time to secure a roster spot.
We now have a total of 368 New England prospects in the Class of 2024 planning to play college baseball. Using last year’s 527 commitments for players in the Class of 2023 as an example, it seems likely that we will see at least 150 more prospects commit to college baseball programs over the next few months.
Whether it’s through prep/high school or the travel ranks, New Englanders are routinely bound for some of the nation’s top college baseball programs. Many stay within the region, but the point remains: The college baseball ranks – across all three divisions – are chock-full of local players. To get insight into what’s coming, we have a running database of all college-bound players from New England. Players, parents and coaches are welcome to submit updates. If doing so, please send all additions to dguttenplan@baseballjournal.com and include the following: name, hometown, position, college, high school, class year, and club team.
