Five New England prospects will compete over the next four days in one of the top showcase events for incoming high school seniors residing on the East Coast.
The five '24 prospects were selected by a staff of MLB scouts headed by the Dodgers' Paul Murphy among a roster of 26 players from the Northeast and Canada. The showcase event will include four games against other regional all-star teams over a four-day stretch (Aug. 2 to 5) at the Hoover Met Complex in Hoover, Ala.
MLB scouts started the East Coast Pro Showcase in 1995 with the purpose of providing an opportunity for high school seniors to earn scouting opportunities in the lead-up to the following summer's MLB Draft.
