Nutrition: Why reading food labels matters for baseball players

Despite what many people may think, reading food labels is not just for calorie counting. Reading food labels is important for everyone, including athletes, to help navigate our often confusing food landscape.

Knowing where to look, and what to look for, can help athletes make healthier choices to better fuel performance.

Serving size

When looking at a food label, it is tempting to just check the calories and either write a food off as “good” or “bad,” but there is so much more to the nutrition facts.
