Hamden Hall has established itself as one of the top baseball programs in the Fairchester Athletic Association and the Northeast.
Brad Chernovetz took over the program in 2020, replacing long-time coach Joe Fontana. He, like Fontana, continues to recruit high-level D1 prospects.
Two of those pieces include senior right-hander Gavin Lyons and senior catcher Brady Chernovetz.
Hailing from Guilford, Conn., Lyons stands 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, and has become one of the most dominant pitchers in the Northeast. Bound for Northeastern University in 2025, Lyons finished the spring with a 10-0 record a 0.84 ERA. In 56 innings pitched, he allowed just 26 hits and four earned runs. Lyons fanned 84 and issued just 18 walks.
