Millbrook School will be hosting Frederick Gunn School on Friday night (5 p.m.) in a WNEPBL matchup. While this is an important contest for each school, the primary focus of the evening will be cancer awareness in conjunction with the American Cancer Society.
The Mustangs will wear specially designed uniforms (pink and blue) for the contest. However, this is not the first time Millbrook has brought attention to this most worthy cause.
"We have done a Millbrook vs. Cancer event in previous years,'' said Mustangs coach Jack Harlan. "We featured pink shoelaces and arm sleeves in the past. This year we are highlighting it with the special uniforms. We tend to get a great turnout when we have Friday night games, and we feel this could serve as a great fundraising opportunity for a great cause.
"Prep schools are inherently schools with immense privilege, and I believe privilege requires action. As prep baseball has increased in popularity over the past decade, I can definitely see opportunities for teams to host a fundraiser game or similar events.''
