For Cushing Academy, an old axiom remains true: "There is no place to go but up."
Following last season's dismal 4-14 record, the Penguins are hoping for a major turnaround in 2020.
That notion is a high priority for fifth-year head coach Ryan Suchanek. Competing in the difficult Central New England Prep School Baseball League (CNEPSBL) is never any easy task for any of the schools involved.
Cushing has struggled over the past couple of seasons within the league, looking up in the standings at some of the stronger schools such as Phillips Andover, Phillips Exeter, Deerfield Academy and Worcester Academy. With the addition of Dexter-Southfield to the CNEPSBL last year, it will only make things that more competitive.
