It’s a rarity in summer collegiate baseball, but Mystic Schooners manager Phil Orbe has had one constant in his starting lineup over the past few summers.
Every day, and at virtually any position on the diamond, Addison Kopack (Cumberland, R.I.) has been that constant.
The super utility player and 2021 All-New England performer out of the University of Rhode Island is back for his third season with Mystic. After the rigors of another grueling collegiate spring, there’s no place he’d spend the summer.
“It’s a different group of guys every year, but it seems like every single team just has this awesome culture that fits right in with me and I feel like I fit into,” Kopack said of the Schooners. “It’s a blue-collar mixture of just a bunch of grinders that love to play baseball and have fun. Everyone brings a little something into that.”
