I remember playing college baseball and knowing when a scout was in the stands. At times you’d converse with them, at times you wouldn’t.
With that said, you always knew when they were around, and you would make sure you were on your “A-game.” That was back when the world wasn’t as instantaneously connected as it is now.
The baseball world, like many sports, becomes a really small community really quickly. So much so that you can’t take for granted that you’ll know when someone is evaluating your play.
Whether it’s a travel baseball practice, a high school practice, a Legion game, a showcase, a college camp, or even a basketball, hockey, or football game you may be participating in … you never know who is watching.
